Jennifer Catherine Lewis 1980-2024

Jennifer Catherine Lewis, aged 44, of Pelham, Massachusetts, passed away on December 5, 2024. She is survived by her beloved children, Eva, Oliver, and Violet Lewis-Horlitz, and her partner and best friend, Daniel Horlitz.

Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, on February 27, 1980, Jen was raised in Chicopee and attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School. She graduated from Chicopee High School in 1998 and pursued her passion for early childhood education at Holyoke Community College. Known for her nurturing spirit, she began babysitting at a young age and later worked at Gorse Children’s Center. In 2002, Jen dedicated herself to her role as a loving mother, raising her three beautiful children with unwavering devotion.

Jen delighted in watching her daughter Eva explore her artistic talents, cheered as Oliver played soccer and basketball, and was a constant supporter of Violet in her activities, including field hockey, cross-country, and her love of music and makeup. Cherished moments with her children brought immense joy and purpose to her life.

In 2017, inspired by her love of older houses—especially their architectural details and charm—Jen became a licensed realtor, where she thrived in helping clients buy and sell their dream homes.

Jennifer is predeceased by her father, Robert Lewis, her maternal grandparents, Virginia and John Lyons, and her paternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Lewis. She leaves behind her mother, Colleen Lewis, and her mother’s partner, Mike Bassett, as well as her brothers Duane Garrigan and his wife Amy, Jeremy Lewis and his wife Kelly, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who were like siblings to her, and many nieces and nephews. Jen is now reunited with her angels: Auntie Pattie, Auntie Moe, her beloved Nana, Bampy, and her father.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 15, from 1-3 PM, with a service to follow at the Boucher-O’Brien Funeral Home, located at 7 Pleasant Street, Easthampton, MA 01027. Friends and family are warmly invited to join together to honor Jen’s life and cherish her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support the education of her three children. Contributions can be made to the “Lewis-Horlitz Family Fund” through Florence Bank, or online at https://everloved.com/life-of/jennifer-catherine-lewis/. Alternatively, you may choose to donate to a charity of your choice in Jen's memory. Your generosity will help ensure that her children's futures remain bright in her loving spirit.
