Jules G. Boisvert

Updated: Aug 6, 2020

Jules Gedeon Boisvert, 93, born on May 20, 1927 in Angliers, Province of Quebec, Canada to Rolland and Clotilde Boisvert, went to his final resting place while a Resident at Bear Mountain of West Springfield on July 31, 2020.

“Jules,” or “Bo,” as he was frequently known, was married to Elaine K. Boisvert (Kerr), who predeceased him in 1994.  Jules served in the United States Army during WWII and was stationed for two years at Scott Field, Illinois before he was honorably discharged in 1947.  He eventually moved to Easthampton, Massachusetts after living several years of his life with his mother and siblings in Barton, Vermont.

He held several different jobs, most of the time working two jobs while his family was growing, from Sole Presser at American Maid Footwear in Easthampton, MA to Traffic Controller at M&L Plastics. Even after retirement, he still kept active with part-time jobs and was a “regular” at the American Legion in Easthampton.  He always enjoyed working with wood and making furniture, and his “satin” refinishing technique was legendary.  He enjoyed entertaining family, and if you came into town your one important stop was visiting the Boisvert house for good food, laughs and spirits.

He leaves behind his son Marc Boisvert and wife Lisa of Chicopee, MA, his daughter Susan Hindes and husband Carl of East Longmeadow, MA, and his daughter Denise Petersen and Jim Gastringer of Southwick, MA .  He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Chad Gosselin, Monique Matthews, Danielle Boisvert, Cody Hindes and Ian Boisvert, and two great-grandchildren, Trinity and Everett.

Due to the Covid situation in the world presently, an online Memorial Tribute will be held on August 15, 2020 at www.JulesBoisvertMemorial.com. His care has been entrusted to the Boucher O’Brien Funeral Home in Easthampton, MA.
