Peter E. Mathieu

Peter E. Mathieu passed away after a short illness on December 11, 2025 at Holyoke Hospital. He was born in Springfield Massachusetts. He grew up in Chicopee and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. He was a member of the schools chorus and also their band. Peter was very proud that he worked in several restaurants within the area. Ponderosa, and Friendly’s where he was employee of the month several times. He enjoyed the folks that were his housemates at the Odyssey house through CHD he enjoyed music and dancing and had a passion for animals.

He was deceased by his parents, Victor and Irene Remillard Mathieu. He leaves his brother Victor Mathieu, Francis, Bowen and sister Elizabeth Mathieu, brother James Finnery and Thomas Dixon.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 23 in Oak Grove Cemetery 9 AM Springfield at the family grave, which is in section M of the cemetery, all are welcome to attend .

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the TJ Oconnor animal shelter.

The Boucher Obrien Funeral Home was in charge with his cremation and services.
