Amelia Sophie (Koziol) Gwiazda, Mickey, died peacefully at home on June 3, 2025 at the amazing age of 100+!! She lived most of her life in Easthampton, taking time out to enjoy a retirement home with Bill in Holiday, Florida. She worked at the Cottage St. Pharmacy in Easthampton as a clerk “back in the day”. Mickey or Great Mimi as many of you called her loved to sew, she could whip up anything your heart desired. Polka dancing at weddings, polish picnics or anywhere there was music you could find her on the dance floor. Painting was also a favorite past time and many of us have her precious paintings hanging on our walls. Not many knew this but she could play any song she heard on the piano by ear, she never took lessons.
She spent her last weeks living with family in Westhampton, enjoying family dinners, telling stories and most important feeling ALL the love. She will be so missed.
She was born on January 6, 1925 to Stanley and Anna (Kraus) Koziol. On July 18, 1944 she married the love of her life, William Gwiazda. She leaves behind her daughter Diane and her husband Donald Tymkowiche. Her grand daughter Monica and her husband John Boyle and two great grandchildren whom she dubbed “Prince” Tyler Boyle and his partner Alyssa Hawkes and “Princess” Amber Boyle and her Fiancé Rick Stolpinski. She is predeceased by her husband William Gwiazda who passed in 1985, her daughter Cindy Klimoski who sadly passed in 2006 and her brother Joseph Koziol and her sister Albina (Koziol) Sulzycki. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great and great greats, as well as so many extended friends and family that loved her oh so much!!
The family invites you to her celebration of life on June 21, 2025 at 1pm at 156 North Rd. in Westhampton. We ask that you bring stories and memories to share. Stolat! Great Mimi!!
Boucher – O’Brien Funeral Home in Easthampton is assisting with her cremation.
