Barbara Chagnon, 69, passed away at her home in Easthampton on October 31, 2022. Born in Turners Falls section of Montague on September 6, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Irene (Gagne) Chagnon. She was a graduate of Easthampton High School. Throughout her life, she was lucky to have several marriages – first to Clarence Hewes, then to Albert Brunette Sr., then to Adam Worpek, then to Morris Adams Jr., and finally to Hugh Massey. Barb worked for the October Company, Kellogg Brush, H&R Block, and finished her working career at Yankee Candle where she retired.
She will always be remembered as the most giving person, very friendly and always willing to help. She is survived by her son Scott and his wife Karen Brunette of Southampton, and her granddaughter, Victoria Brunette. She leaves a sister Peggy and her husband Norman Peloquin of Hadley, and a brother Allan and his wife Kathleen Chagnon of Montague. Barbara was pre-deceased by a sister Linda Hewes. Happy in her life, she was blessed to have many friends and several special nieces and nephews, Michelle and Mark Nelson, Stacy and Jeffrey Lovett, Jason and Jennifer Hewes, and David Hewes.
Her calling hours will be held at the Boucher - O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St. Easthampton, on Friday November 11, 2022 from 5 to 7 PM. Her burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Dakin Humane Society, PO Box 6307, Springfield, MA, 01101.
