Pow Roeum 1947-2026

In Loving Memory of Pow Roeum
March 5, 1947 ~ October 17, 2026
Pow Roeum, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Easthampton, Massachusetts, surrounded by the comfort and love of his home, exactly as he wished.
Born in Cambodia, Pow brought warmth, strength, and an enduring sense of community with him everywhere he went. He was a member of the Cambodian military before settling in Easthampton, Massachusetts, where he built a beautiful life alongside his beloved wife, Horn Pok, who survives him. Together, they raised five children and a niece whom he raised as his own. His legacy continues to flourish through his many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pow was a man who lived for his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by the vibrant joy, noise, and laughter of those he loved most. He was an active, creative soul who enjoyed peaceful bike rides and working with his hands. A talented craftsman, his greatest passion in woodworking was creating handcrafted wooden musical instruments—a labor of love that brought beauty and harmony into the world.
His faith and devotion to his heritage were central to his life. Pow proudly helped build the Cambodian Buddhist temple in Leverett, Massachusetts, a sacred space where he actively worshipped, found peace, and contributed to the growth of his community.
To know Pow was to love him. Blessed with an infectious smile and an open heart, he had an extraordinary gift for making everyone he met feel truly welcomed and cared for. His presence was a comfort, his kindness was boundless, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Pow was predeceased by his parents, his father, Roeum Lo, and his mother, Suy Moul.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Horn Pok; his beloved children, Hoeuth Pech and her husband, Sokhom Pech; Hoeun Pok and his wife, Jenna Dinh; Han Roeum and his wife, Kunthea Roeum; Veasna Pok; Samnang Pok and his wife, Valerie Pok; his beloved niece, Jenna Roeum, whom he raised as his own, and her husband, Chhoeun Sok; and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his extended family in Easthampton and beyond; and a community that loved him dearly.
