Wilma F. Davis 1939-2026

Wilma F. Davis, daughter of Leroy and Freedith Davis, passed away peacefully at Cooley Dickinson Hospital on October 4, 2026.


She was born in Plainfield, NH on March 6, 1939, the youngest of five children.

In 1941 she moved with her family to Northern. Maine, attended, one after the other, three- one room schools and in 1956 graduated from Mapleton High School at age seventeen.


Having taken commercial courses in high school and becoming a fast typist, she went to Boston, MA and worked as a secretary for ten years. Thereafter, she moved to Western MA and during the 50+ years she worked, among other places, lawyer’s office, cosmetic company, Insurance Co. and the in Hatfield, MA town hall, as well had her own small business at home.


She cared for her mother Freedith as well as her sister Jane until their death.

Wilma loved animals, all creatures of all kinds. Having several dogs & cats, over the span of her life. She loved to socialize and had many friends she kept in touch with and loved all.

She was devoted to her family, often retelling stories of each. She will be missed by many.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, sister Jane (Storey) sister Adele (Benson) and Brother Samuel. She is survived by her brother Ed, and many nephews, nieces, in-laws, and friends.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday October 9, 2026 at Main Street Cemetery in Hatfield MA.


The Boucher- O’Brien Funeral Home, in Easthampton has been entrusted with her services.
