Edward J. Boisjolie, Sr., 101, of Easthampton, MA passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at his home in Easthampton. Born in Holyoke on March 26, 1924 he was the son of Aldorf and Doris (Hamel) Boisjolie . Ed was a graduate of Holyoke High School, he then went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during WWII serving in the Asiatic Pacific Area.
Ed returned home where he married the love of his life on May 29, 1948 Beatrice (Isabelle) Boisjolie. They were together for over 73 wonderful years, both Ed and Bea were loving parents to five children. They started family life in Holyoke, where their children were raised. In 1970 they moved to Easthampton and have been there ever since. He was a hard-working man. He began at Worthington Compressor in Holyoke, which then became Atlas Copco. His career in industrial engineering was a lifelong passion for over 43 years. He retired as a foreman. Ed was a devout Catholic very strong in his faith.
He was a past Parishioner of Sacred Heart in Easthampton and now a communicate of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, Westfield. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and he loved the outdoors. Both Ed and Bea love to travel and go on cruises. They enjoyed their time together in their later years. They were so blessed to have a wonderful family spending much time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Shirley (Keith) Cadieux of Methuen, Eileen Gotta of Ludlow and his three sons; Thomas (Sheila) Boisjolie of Suffield, CT, Lawrence (Diane) Boisjolie of Suffield, CT and Edward (Renee) Boisjolie of Easthampton. Edward will be forever remembered as a loving grandfather and great grandfather to many, along with his nieces and nephews. He also leaves his brother James Boisjolie of New York and Barbara Gaughan of Holyoke. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Joseph Gotta in 2023 and brothers; Ernie and Francis Boisjolie, along with sisters, Mildred Malboeuf, and Dorothy Schumaker.
All are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, July 28 at the Boucher - O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St., Easthampton from 4 to 6 PM. His funeral will be meeting at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd., Westfield for his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 29 the Mass will begin at 10 AM. His burial with Military Honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery South Hadley.
