James P. Dunham


James P. Dunham, 71, passed away on August 28, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Holyoke on December 15, 1949 he was the son of Raymond and Doris (Smith) Dunham. Jim grew up in Holyoke and after graduating from Holyoke High School, He went on to attain his associates degree in fire science. In 1970 he married the love of his life Kathleen M. (Ramsdell) Dunham they shared over 50 wonderful years together.

Jim and Kathy raise their family in Easthampton, where Jim spent 20 years in the Fire Department, he retired in 1998 at the rank of Captain. Throughout his life Jim was a very happy and content man, he loved to fish, golf, play his guitar and from time to time he could be seen smoking his pipe. Jim was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Easthampton Counsel #1116, he was a member of the MASS Retiree’s and he served on the Easthampton Retirement Board.


The joy of his life came later on where he absolutely enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his wife Kathy his sons James P. Dunham II and his wife Jennifer Lynne of Eastampton and Jason S. Dunham of Westhampton, along with his daughter Jennifer A. Poudrier and husband David of Eastampton. Jim’s greatest treasure were his grandchildren: Courtney, Morgan, Summer, Jordan, Hunter and great grandson Cole. He also leaves many other dear Dunham cousins and friends. All are welcome to attend his funeral service this Saturday beginning at 9 AM from the Boucher-O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St., Eastampton with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Valley Parish, burial will be in Saint Brigid’s Cemetery.


Calling hours will be held Friday night from 5 to 7 PM

Memorial donations may be made to the Easthampton Firefighters Association, 32 Payson Ave., Easthampton, MA.
