Patricia A. (Pepin) Kennedy 1934-2026

Patricia A. (Pepin) Kennedy, 91, passed away at Linda Manor in Northampton on March 12, 2026. Patti was born in Northampton on April 15, 1934, to Herve and Dorothy (Clapp) Pepin. She grew up in Easthampton, graduated from Easthampton High School, and went on to receive a B.S. degree in Education from Westfield State College. In 1957, Patti married her soulmate, George F. Kennedy, Jr., and they spent over 50 wonderful years together. Patti taught primary education in the Lexington school system and then returned to work in the public school system in Easthampton. Here, Patti and George joyfully raised their family, with unbounding love. For the last 25 years of her career, Patti acted as director of the Wee Care Nursery School, located at the Easthampton Congregational Church, where she was a member and gladly volunteered many hours. Patti was deeply committed to her community and gave freely of her time and talents. She was a member of the Helping Hand Society, and a Jayceette in the local Junior Chamber organization. Patti and George were very supportive of the Easthampton Hockey Association and its skaters. Many will remember Patti, Ruth and Babe manning the coffee table at the Williston Rink. Family meant the world to Patti and George, and they loved spending vacations in Wells and Goose Rocks Beach, ME, with friends and their multi-generation family. Sundays and holidays were also a very special time at the Kennedy home, where the family gathered to make many happy memories. Patricia joins George, now, who passed in 2010. She is going to be hugely missed by her children, David Kennedy and wife Sheila, in Easthampton, her son, John Kennedy and wife Sadie in GA, her daughter Patricia Dion and husband Michael, and her daughter Margaret Kennedy and her fiancé Alan Huot, all in Easthampton. Patti was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald and Neil Pepin, and her sister, Ruth Matthews. She was a generously loving Nana to five lucky grandkids, Jake, Hannah, Abbey, Chelsea, and Drew. She was also a great grandmother of three, and a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews, and a true friend to many.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Linda Manor for their kind and compassionate care.

Calling hours will be at Boucher-O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St, Easthampton, on Friday, March 20th from 3 to 5pm. A service will be held in the Easthampton Congregational Church on Saturday the 21st, at 11am. Burial will take place at a later time. Contributions in Patti’s memory may be made to the Cooley Dickinson VNA and Hospice, or the Easthampton’s Children’s Library Fund.
