Patricia Wrightington Tripp 1941-2025

Patricia Wrightington Tripp, of Southampton, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on November 13, 2025, surrounded by members of her loving family. She was born on January 5, 1941, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Alden and Dorothy Wrightington. She was a 1958 graduate of Fairhaven High School, followed by graduation with honors from the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Boston, acquiring her certification as a Registered Nurse in 1961. She worked at New England Baptist and Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, over a period of three years, and established a 40-year career at the Buckley/Holyoke Health Care Nursing Home in Holyoke. She was a dedicated mother to three sons, a member of the Southampton Mothers’ Club, an eight-year Cub Scout Den Mother, and served as a member of the Southampton Board of Health. She was an avid fan of all the Boston professional sports teams but would have to turn away from close game finishes, too nervous to watch.

She is survived by her three sons, David (Jeanne), Dennis Jr. (Lyndee), and Daniel, three grandchildren (Jesse, Samantha, and Nicole), brother Robert Wrightington (Sharyn), niece Nadine, and nephew Richard.
