Ray M. Jackson 1955-2025

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Ray M. Jackson (age 69) of Northampton, born October 19th 1955 - June 17th, 2025. Ray, son of the late Eloise and Hardy Rowden, was raised in Bastrop, LA and joined the army at Fort Dix, NJ before moving to MA in the late 70's. Ray worked his way up from the tobacco fields of Hatfield to truck driving. Ray then worked for the RMV of Westfield and Springfield 1986-1989, the commercial driving licensing unit 89'-90', RMV compliance unit 90'-92', achieved bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and joined the MSP compliance unit until retirement in 2011 as a Massachusetts State Police Trooper. Ray will be deeply mourned by his wife of 36 years Diane Jackson, two children Shaniece and Ryan Jackson, two grandchildren Eli and Robin Jackson, and their mother Brittany Purdy. Ray grew up fishing and continued to throughout his life. Ray's first passion was racing cars, and he helped race car driver Jeff Bodin for a time. Ray enjoyed traveling and dancing with his wife Diane, meeting many new friends and planning adventures for the future with his loved ones.


Calling hours will be Friday, June 27, 2025 from 5-7PM at Boucher – O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St., Easthampton, MA. On Tuesday July 1, 2025 people are invited to meet at Boucher O’Brien Funeral in Easthampton for 9:30AM preceding to Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam for 11AM committal.
