EASTHAMPTON, MA — Sharon A. Cleary, 68, passed away after a brief illness on June 13, 2021, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. Born in Northampton on October 16, 1952 she was the daughter of Harold and Frances (Siegel) McNaney. Sharon was a lifelong resident of Easthampton and was a graduate of Easthampton High School and later went on to earn her Bachelors of Arts degree at UMass in Human Resource Development. She worked for over 32 years for the Department of Mental Health and was the Director of MIS when she retired in 2002. Throughout her life Sharon enjoyed the company of many people, she loved photography and also was an avid quilter where she made many quilts for friends and family. Sharon also had several cats over the years that provided her and Wayne great satisfaction. She met the love of her life Wayne Cleary and they we’re married on December 31, 1970 and shared over 47 wonderful years together. Wayne passed away in July of 2018. She will be dearly missed by her brother, Patrick McNaney and his wife Debbie of Easthampton and her sister Holly (McNaney) Florek and her husband Rich of Westhampton and her best friend for over 61 years, Debbie (Kilner) Curtis. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Sharon was blessed to of had her husband’s sisters as part of her family, Sandra Maynard, Beverly Russell, Pam Sadowski and Darlene Cleary. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service on Friday, June 18 at 11 AM, meeting in Brookside Cemetery Easthampton, The Boucher O’Brien Funeral Home was in trusted with her care and services. Memorial donations may be made to the MSPCA or the American Cancer Society
