Donald A Hounshell 1955-2023

Donald A Hounshell, 67, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2023 in Springfield at Baystate Medical Center. Born on August 23, 1955 in Northampton, he was the son of James and Hedy (Geryk) Hounshell.


He was a lifelong resident of Easthampton and graduated from Easthampton High School. Don worked for many years for Yankee Candle as a machine operator. Donald loved the outdoors, especially when he was camping or fishing. He was a gifted local artist, creating through the mediums of oil, water, and pastel. Concentrating as a naturalist artist, he had a strong love for nature and for animals. In his spare time, he and his many friends enjoyed spending time at the Pulaski Club in Easthampton.


He was predeceased by his son, Donald Hounshell. He will be missed by his daughter, Tracie Santiago of Chicopee, his brothers; Michael Hounshell and wife Lisa of Manchester Connecticut along with his brother David Hounshell of Easthampton. He also leaves a sister Karen Lucas of Warren. He also leaves Grandsons Samuel Moser and Marcus Santaigo. He leaves many nieces and nephews Cherylynne, Eddie, Shandalyn, Michael Jr., Misty, Jeffrey, Andrew, and Elyse.


All are welcome to attend his funeral, which will be held on Thursday March 30th from the Boucher - O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St. Easthampton with calling hours from 9 to 11AM, then proceeding to Brookside Cemetery for his committal.
