
Eleanor (Yezierski) Kwolek, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on January 26, 2025. Born on her family’s farm in North Hadley, Eleanor was the youngest of eleven children. She graduated from Hopkins Academy in 1949. Eleanor married George Kwolek, a US Marine in 1951.
George and Eleanor made their home in Easthampton, where Eleanor was an active member of the community. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality, Easthampton Helping Hand Society, a volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Services, a Town Meeting member, a Precinct Warden for Elections, a Census taker, a founding member of the Manhan Rail Trail Committee, a member of the Easthampton Flag Design Committee, and a proud member of the Women’s American Legion Auxiliary.
Watching her children play sports, she became an avid sports fan. She cheered for the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Patriots, the Easthampton Legion Baseball, and was awarded an honorary pass to all Easthampton High School Athletic events in her later years for her life-long support. Besides sports, Eleanor enjoyed traveling, bird watching, and time with her family.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband George in 2012. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Kwolek and his wife Juliana, Alexander (Buddy) Kwolek and his wife Betty-Ann, her daughter Mary O’Brien and her husband Thomas, seven grandchildren, six great- grandchildren, and her brother Daniel Yezierski.
Calling hours are on Thursday, January 30th from 4 to 6 pm at the Boucher- O’Brien Funeral Home in Easthampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 31st at 10am at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Easthampton. Burial is private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Eleanor may be sent to Easthampton High School Athletics, 70 Williston Avenue, Easthampton, MA 01027.
