John E. (Jack) Vinelli passed away on February 22, 2026, after a long illness.

Jack was born in Northampton, MA on March 21, 1947, to Steve and Mary (Symanski) Vinelli and was the youngest of their three children.

He attended Northampton Public Schools and later graduated as an EMT from Springfield Technical Community College.

Jack retired as a proud Firefighter/EMT from Easthampton Fire Department after 25 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked for the Hampshire County House of Correction for a short while.

Earlier, Jack worked as a part-time butcher at Stasz Market and Stop & Shop. Those skills led him to open a seasonal mini butcher shop at his home where he invited hunting friends. That little shop turned out perfectly trimmed venison steaks and chops for freezers and group game dinners.

He enjoyed all things outdoors and was a sportsman who loved fishing and hunting. He spent many happy hours with his brother and friends trying to net the big one or bag an 8-pointer. Jack was predeceased by his parents and by his brother Steve (Sonny) Vinelli as well as brother in law, Michael Sulzycki.

Jack leaves his daughter Lori, her husband Robert Landauer, and granddaughter Lucy of Feeding Hills, MA. He also leaves his former wife Mary Ann (Sulzycki) Vinelli, a sister Elizabeth Lapointe (Armand), sisters in law Linda Vinelli, Patricia Sulzycki (Doug), Kathleen Robinson and Thorne Wenner, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Vinelli Family is grateful for the many years of friendship and fun that Frank and the Costabile Family shared with him.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:30AM at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 33 Adams Street, Easthampton, MA. A private burial will take place in the Spring.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Jack’s memory to: Easthampton Fire Department Charitable Foundation, 32 Payson Avenue #1, Easthampton, MA. 01027
