Mary Veronica Delores Rowe, 94 of Easthampton, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on December 29, 2023. Born on December 27, 1929, she was the daughter of John Alfred and Victoria (Kirke) Rowe of Dundalk, Louth, Ireland.
Affectionately known as “Lolie”, Mary was born and raised in Ireland and Northern Ireland before coming to America in 1956, settling in Springfield, Massachusetts. She worked as a domestic housekeeper before turning to a career as a seamstress, working for many different companies before her retirement in 2008.
Mary lived with her loving daughter and she cherished time with her grandchildren and lifelong friends. She enjoyed making clothes, painting with oil and watercolors, drawing, reading the tabloids, and taking family summer vacations to Ogunquit, Maine.
Mary will be dearly missed by her daughter Angeline and her husband Alan Brault of Easthampton, grandchildren Marc Stanislas and his wife Amanda of Easthampton, Shaine Frederick and his partner Joanna Bucior of Plainville, CT, Haley Brault and her partner Sophia Furlani of Enfield, CT, and great grandchildren Henri and Andre Stanislas. She is also survived by her brother Brian Rowe of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Mary is predeceased by her parents, sister Florence O’Neill (Rowe), and brothers John and Michael Rowe.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Donna and Sheila from Baystate Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org), an organization dear to Mary.
Visiting hours will be held at the Boucher-O’Brien Funeral Home on Friday, January 12 from 12-1:00pm. Burial to follow at Brookside Cemetery, both in Easthampton, MA. Reception to follow.
