Richard R. Gurski 1949-2022


Richard Gurski, known to his family and friends as Dick passed on June 11, 2022, at the age of 72. He was born in Northampton on June 29, 1949, and was the son of George and Agnes (Cycz) Gurski. Dick was raised in Florence and was a graduate of Northampton High School. He then went on to Greenfield Community College and received his Associates Degree. Continuing on, he went to the University of Maine where he earned his degree in Chemical Engineering in Pulp and Paper Technology.


He later worked at Chartpak in Leeds where he met Joyce Pacocha. They married on June 17, 1977 and lived in Millbury MA for almost 40 years where they started EM Screen Systems. Dick and Joyce moved to York Beach ME for 3 years then moved back to Easthampton to be closer to their families.

Dick enjoyed strolling the fairways, boating on the waters of Maine and walking on the beach where he could listen to the sound of the waves, feel the sand between his toes and smell the salty air.


His greatest love was spending time with his family.


Dick leaves his beloved wife Joyce, son Mark and his wife Janelle of Pomfret CT., son Eric and his wife Mikaela of Pomfret CT. Dick was a loving grandfather to Blaise, Evangeline and River. He also leaves his brother Ronald and his wife Janet of Eliot ME and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20th beginning at 9:00 AM at the Boucher - O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St. Easthampton with a Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of the Valley Church at 11:00 AM, burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
