Richard Alan Neumann 1947-2021

Richard Alan Neumann, 74, of Easthampton, passed away on December 13, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Richard was born in Northampton on December 9, 1947 to Bernice and the late Charles D. Neumann. He graduated in 1969 from Precious Blood High School in Holyoke. Richard worked as 1st Class Fireman at Cooley Dickinson Hospital until his retirement.


Richard loved to travel, taking many trips to the Caribbean and Thailand. Richard was able to spend some of his retirement years living in Cape Coral, Florida until he moved back to Easthampton to be with his children and grandchildren.


Richard is predeceased by his father Charles D. Neumann. He is survived by his mother, Bernice Neumann of Easthampton and his brother James Neumann, also of Easthampton. Richard is loved by his two children, Heather Darling (Gary) of Greenfield and Jonathan Neumann (Jennifer) of Southampton, and his best friend Catherine Neumann of Easthampton. Richard “Pepe” will be fondly remembered by his three grandsons, Wesley, Nathan and Quinn.


Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 20, at Boucher and O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St. Easthampton, from 4-6PM.
