Royal Wayne LaPlante 1943-2025

Royal Wayne LaPlante, 83, passed at home peacefully among his family on November 11, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Karen Mae LaPlante. He was born in Chicopee, Mass, March 14, 1943. He was the son of Margaret (nee Goudy) LaPlante and Robert LaPlante, both predeceased. Two sisters, predeceased, Dorothy LaPlante and Joanne Anderson.

He is survived by his sister Barbara Theroux of Vermont and his brother Ronald LaPlante of Chicopee, Massachusetts and his wife Marilyn LaPlante and their children. He is survived by his four sons, Christopher LaPlante and his wife Kerri LaPlante, Jeff LaPlante and his wife Charlotte LaPlante, Lawrence LaPlante and Kevin LaPlante and his wife Kimberly LaPlante. As well as their children, Bryce LaPlante, Calvin LaPlante, Julia LaPlante and Gabriel LaPlante. As well as two step-granddaughters, Kayla Bunker and Jasmine Del Valle. He worked for Pro Brush for thirty years and another eighteen at Yankee Candle. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and travel with his wife. He was a long serving member of the Elks and the Moose Lodge. He was an avid dog lover and belonged to a bowling league for years with his wife. The family would like to thank the Cooley Dickinson Hospice team that cared for Wayne in his final days.

The burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will follow in the coming months. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Riverside Industries, Easthampton, MA.
